This week Meta moved Instagram Live ingest to Media over QUIC. The Chrome echo story got a follow-up, and this time it is about what leaked echo does to a voice agent. There’s also an interesting proposal for audio-only capture.

Shipping Media Over QUIC at Meta Scale for Instagram Live Ingest (Meta Engineering)
Meta has joined the MoQ craze with its own deployment of it in Instagram Live. For now, this is the ingest part, whereas the real ROI comes on the egress - the only reason for doing it this way is likely reducing risks and gaining operational understanding and experience with MoQ. As more such deployments come to life, the importance and use of WebRTC in live streaming scenarios lowers.
