Two Microsoft Teams products moved away from WebRTC this week - Android Rooms drops WebRTC Direct Guest Join for SIP interop, and Teams on AVD and Windows 365 swaps out the legacy WebRTC optimization layer for a new media engine. It saddens me to see that, and if feels as if Microsoft hasn’t done enough to go all in with WebRTC at any point - or that’s the story I tell myself here. We’ll see how other vendors play it out in the next 12 months.
